Merging side by side cells may hide second cell content

Given a table, with tree (or more) columns and two (or more) cells of different rows merged [barely seen to the left in the image]. Sample file.

When two (or more) side by side simple cells are merged, the content of the first cell became the first paragraph of the new cell. If the table row is not very high, the second (and following) cell’s paragraphs will become hidden (with a red triangle pointing to the right showing the incident).

Delete the first paragraph (with Delete key) seems impossible, as well as to reach the following paragraph.

Changing the row height allow to delete the empty paragraph. But this change the table dimensions, that may be restored later.

An option to access to the hidden paragraphs without changing the table dimensions is to select the new cell and use the Find & Replace dialog (Ctrl+H or menu Edit - Find & Replace…), with Find: value set to “^$”, leaving Replace: value empty, and selecting the Current selection only and Regular expressions check boxes.

And pulse in Replace.

Interesting, I tried it on LO6.4.4.2, Win 10 Pro 1903 and had same issue. It is unexpected that you can’t delete the upper paragraph while the red arrow is there. I increased the row height until red arrow disappeared (but second line not yet visible), I could delete upper paragraph then. I like your workaround. Cheers, Al
