Missing Master Slide Hierarchy

While in MS Office, there exists a hierarchy of master slides, this seems to be missing in LO, or I just cannot find it.

Therefore, I need to edit the footer on all masters separately, which is very annoying for a large number of slides (right)
On the other hand, in MSO, I just need to edit the footer on the top master slide and all others inherit the information (left):

Can you guide me on how to achieve something similar also in LO?
It would be really great to have this functionality available, which would bring me one step closer to retiring my Windows VM.

Can that help?

Create master slide and presentation

The concepts of LO and MSO are different. MSO needs the child master slides mainly for having different layout based on a common root master. In LO this is not necessary because the slide layout is not a property of a master but of the individual slide.

Switching between pptx and odp does not work well in regard of master slides. On import of pptx, each child master slide of MSO is turned into a master slide and such looses the common root master. The result contradicts the concept of master slides of LO. So when working with master slides in LO, stick to odp format. When coming from pptx, first clean up the bunch of master slides and replace them with one master slide and individual layouts and then stick with odp.

The problems are tracked e.g. in tdf#62332, tdf#155774, tdf#162545.
