Modify default formatting

Using LibreOffice Calc 6.3.

I format several cells containing text with modified formatting “align left”, “wrap text”, and “align top”. Then when I cut these cells using ctrl-x and paste them somewhere else within the same spreadsheet using “paste special” ctrl-shift-v” with “paste all” selected, and then try typing in text in the cells that were just cleared by cutting, the formatting resets to a default, specifically “align left”, unselected “wrap text”, and “align bottom”. I would like to change these defaults to that mentioned here.

And how did you go about formatting it?

  • Menu Format>Cells?
  • Per Format Styles>Change Cell Style or New?

While in the main screen, looking at a spreadsheet with no menus open, I click the icons which show labels when moused over as “align left (ctrl+L)”, “wrap text”, and “align top”. These are around the horizontal centre and vertical bottom row of the icons displayed under the menu tabs.

With two steps, first copy, and after ‘Delete’, so the format remains.
