I just started using libre office today, for writing. The mouse selection speed is very fast, when I want to select text with mouse. How can I make it slower? (The same mouse selects slower in ms word, so it is not about the mouse)
Try the settings in Control Panel\All Control Panel Items, clicking Mouse icon and in the dialog that opens select Pointer options tab. Try making the pointer speed slower by using the slider.
It might not affect Word because I think I recall MS building in some slowing patch for the mouse back in the early 2000s
Another possibility. Click Tools > Options > LibreOffice Writer > View and try toggling the setting Smooth scroll to see if that affects speed.
