Moving from windows to Linux software

I wish to move from Windows 10 on small laptop to Linux just to use Libre Office. Seeking what is the best version of Linux software to use. Is there a Linux version of Libre Office.
Have no need to use on internet other that wireless link to a printer but would not object if Internet access available.
Linux is all new to me, appreciate any advice

Welcome to AskLibreoffice Noel. This isn’t really a LibreOffice question but let’s try.
I recommend that people coming from Windows try LinuxMint (https://www.linuxmint.com/ ) as it will feel the most familiar. I cannot remember exactly but I am pretty sure it comes with LibreOffice, most Linux installations do. In any event, you can add it and other programs through Software Manager.

Thank you very much, very prompt response. Nice to see they all basically use Libre Office, I use it on my big Win 11 PC
Best regards for 2026

Linux Mint has a friendly, helpful forum.

On Linux, mostly stick with the version the distribution offers and install using their package manager.

But to see what is available, check the LibreOffice Download page.

Thank you very much,
I have a clear 85 year old mind now
