Forum paragraph spacing

The Preview and the Created Topic are not formatted the same.

In the editor, I leave a blank line between paragraphs. I see this blank line in the Preview, but the blank line is removed in the Created Topic.

Sometimes I’ll add a <br> between paragraphs, but the spacing is really wide – multiple lines.

What is the preferred solution? Leave the paragraphs abutted to one another or add the <br> even though the width is between paragraphs is wide.

NOTE: It appears that it does not happen in all Categories. The paragraph formatting is fine here in Site Feedback, but not in the English category.

In questions and answers the empty paragraph are not collapsed. (I pressed Enter here)
It’s different in comments. You can add <br> (or <br/>) at the end of a paragraph, like here (to get an empty line),

(second paragraph.)


or between paragraphs, like above (and you will get a larger vertical space).

There are some users that separate paragraphs with a period (like above).
