Microsoft has announced Office 2016 and gives a quick overview about its improvements: http://blogs.office.com/2015/01/22/next-chapter-office-windows/
I am not a particular fan of MS Office but I have to admit that the only area where Libreoffice comes close to MS in terms of functionality is with Writer. Calc is worse than Excel and Impress does not even play in the same league as Impress.
At the same time, I get the feeling that the Office-Suite paradigm does not produce any kind of innovation any more. (Well, Calligra tries a new angle but is far from being usable for production.) This is where Libreoffice could take over Microsoft and really provide an innovative approach. But sadly, I don’t seem to find a lot of material on the long-term strategy of Libreoffice. Can we discuss this?
