Multiple Writer (and Calc) Docs - program crashes

Version: 7.4.3.2 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 1048a8393ae2eeec98dff31b5c133c5f1d08b890
CPU threads: 8; OS: Mac OS X 13.0.1; UI render: default; VCL: osx
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

I inadvertently put “Writer” but it’s “Calc/spreadsheet and Writer.”
I have open two spreadsheet docs and am copying selected info from one and paste into a certain place on a separate doc. Invariably, the program crashes when I do this.
Let me see if I can explain better.

I have one spreadsheet, .ods format, open and want to copy line 36 for instance. So I highlight the entire line, then go to my other document, either another spreadsheet or an .odt page, right click and paste.

It works well when it works–many times it will freeze LibreOffice.

I hope this explains it a bit better. Can anyone help? Is this a bug? Thank you.

…am copying selected info from one…

What kind of information is this?
In which file format do you save?

I edited my post to hopefully make it more understandable. The file formats stay the same.

Sorry, i am on Window.
I hope other users can help you.

Thanks anyway.

First steps to take before submitting a bug

I realized that if I click on the LibreOffice icon in the tray and go between the two docs, it freezes. However, if I go to my File List/Explorer and use the two direct from there, it does not seem to freeze. I just recently did update the installation but I will continue getting info prior to submitting a bug–may be an Apple thing also; did let it submit a report to Apple when it crashed.

However, if I go to my File List/Explorer and use the two direct from there, it does not seem to freeze.

There is an easy way to switch between documents in LibreOffice.
Choose the Window menu.
All open documents will be displayed there.

That seems to work best! I did not know that and will utilize it from here forward. Since it took care of my issue, I will mark it as a solution. Thank you very much!

That is likely tdf#148435, fixed in 7.4.4.

I have version 7.4.3.2. Is 7.4.4 out yet? I thought I just upgraded? Thanks for the heads up, though! When I upgrade to that, will try again just out of curiosity.

7.4.4 should be released in the 2nd week of January.

Thank you.
