Hello everyone!
It’s been some six-ish months since I switched from MS Office to LO entirely, and I absolutely love the experience, especially after the most recent releases, which finally support touchscreen scrolling. Legendary! However, there’s one thing that I can’t figure out yet. It concerns comment navigation (via the standalone Navigator or the navigation menu in the sidebar), namely, sorting comments by a specific author. I regularly deal with lengthy documents that have been edited and commented by other people apart from me, and being able to navigate comments by a specific user would be super helpful. This function in MS Word saved me a ton of time and effort. For instance, a 200-page document contains comments from Jeff, Mary and Jake; I’ve already seen Jeff and Mary’s comments, but Jake reviewed the document after them, so only his comments are those that matter, and I want to see them specifically. In MS Word, I’d use the Ctrl + H menu, where there is a tab (a button or whatever it’s called) that allows to search comments by a certain user. But I can’t find anything like that in LO Writer, just the general comment navigation, where I only find all comments by all users, and it’s a bit frustrating.
I refuse to believe such a crucial function is absent in LO or that I am the only person in the world who finds it useful, so instead of making premature conclusions on this, I decided to ask veteran users first. Is it really so, people? If yes, does anyone happen to know whether there are any plans to implement this feature anytime soon?
Before anyone suggests that I create a report for the developers or something like that, I must say I don’t know how to do it (yet). I’m not an IT or sysadmin type of guy, but just a regular user and a complete newbie in the Libre community.
Anyways, thanks in advance for any possible advice or information on the issue.
PS: Thought it might be important to indicate that I use a Windows version of LO.
