Need help with understanding the "ISBLANK" function

I know this is a simple answer/

I’m using the following formula:
=IF(D41-E41>0,1,0)+F38

My problem is that I cannot get “ISBLANK” to work for me.
All I want is if D41 is blank than the current cell (F) remains blank, otherwise do the addition for the “F” cell.

That’s it, I just cannot do it correctly.

Try this:

=IF(ISBLANK(D41); ""; <your formula>)

Obviously, replace <your formula> with the actual calculation you need.

Thanks, it works. I think I left out the if in the last part - =IF(ISBLANK(D41),"",**IF(**D41-E41>0,1,0)+F38)
