Thanks. See my post from 2 1/2 hours before your post - I marked it all as “Solution”. Thanks for being here for us.
How did you do it? I have the same problem but can’t get it to download.
I have no idea what finally worked. While I was typing my next-to-last post, I said, “I somehow managed to find a link to download and install LibreOffice 7.4.7.2,” because I didn’t know what I’d found to click on. I thought I clicked on the same thing that I clicked on the first try, but whatever it was this time, it worked. I’m 80 and, if I didn’t know what it was a few days ago, I’ll certainly not be able to figure it out now. Sorry I can’t help you. If you can find the page with the list of scores of links (found it from one of the posts when I first asked about the problem late December), try the top one - I think that’s the last one I tried. Hope it works for you.

Note that the beta version of 24.2 (release version due week beginning 29th January) which has a fix, can be downloaded from the link (tick the box) at the bottom of the download page, Download LibreOffice | LibreOffice - Free Office Suite - Based on OpenOffice - Compatible with Microsoft
Thank you. I’m beginning to think the problem is the last automatic update in my computer. I’ve downloaded all my older versions and they are all malfunctioning.
I’ve decided to switch back to Word (I paid for a lifetime version years ago but, when the “big switch” happened, I didn’t know how to enable it) and am gradually putting my LibreOffice docs into Word. I’ll keep LibreOffice on my computer, “just in case”. It’s a good program, but isn’t as reliable as Word.
