No Java on Apple M1 selectable (7.2 M1-Version)

DEUTSCH

Moin,

java version “16.0.2” 2021-07-20
Java™ SE Runtime Environment (build 16.0.2+7-67)
Java HotSpot™ 64-Bit Server VM (build 16.0.2+7-67, mixed mode, sharing)

Könnt ihr mir da helfen? Ich weiß nicht weiter.

Danke
Frank

ENGLISH

I am using an Apple M1 Mac and the new M1-LibreOffice-Version 7.2. On my Mac Java 16 JDK is installed.

java version “16.0.2” 2021-07-20
Java™ SE Runtime Environment (build 16.0.2+7-67)
Java HotSpot™ 64-Bit Server VM (build 16.0.2+7-67, mixed mode, sharing)

Although it should be fine the Java selection on preferences - advanced (in German “Erweitert”) is grey and there is no option to select Java (see attachted pics).

I need to use Zotero extension for citing in my book projects.

Can you help me?

THX
Frank

This is not a bug. The M1 build is not among officially supported ones (and is not offered on the download page, only mentioned as a testing version in release notes) - exactly for this reason, that e.g. its Java support is missing for now.

By the way: OP has provided both German and English versions of the question; it would be nice if replies follow this in this English section

The same in safe mode.

When will it be official? It’s important to me.

When it’s ready. There’s no schedule, and it only depends on volunteer work (when they find time and think it’s important for them), or on paying customers requiring that from professional support

LOL. I see I’m in Deutsch section actually - sorry for the strange request from me, being somehow confused. Excuse me.

Release Notes:

The Document Foundation provides builds for Apple Silicon at Index of /libreoffice/stable/7.2.0/mac/aarch64

I was not able to read Release Notes this way

Well, of course I could read it this way partly because I participated in the discussion on IRC that lead to the note appeared in the notes

Okay, thanks - switch to x64-version, everything fine. Hoping for a quick “official” universal-app
