For several iterations there has been no Properties in File in Writer but it exists in Calc. I’ve just moved to 7.6.2.1 and I still have the issue.
What’s happening? Is it just me?
Do you mean you have lost Properties you previously entered in a document?

Thanks for the question. No, I don’t mean that I’ve lost Properties I previously entered in a document.
When I create or open a Writer document and go into File, Properties and Recent Documents are missing. When I open a Calc document and go into File, Properties and Recent Documents are there.
I can’t understand why File in Calc contains Properties and Recent Documents but File in Writer does not contain them. This has been a problem for in different releases.
Do I need to do something or is it a bug?
Many more items are missing in the Writer File menu.
Before filing a bug report, make sure you didn’t damage yourself your menu (no offence intended, this might be the result of non-intentional action). Go to Tools>Customize, Menus tab and try to restore at least Open Recent Files and Properties.
If this works, save your user profile (in case you have customised saved settings) and reset it afterwards. You can alternatively restart in Safe Mode (which temporarily doesn’t use your user profile).
Though you forgot to mention it, I assume you’re under Window$ (small icon in the status bar on the screenshot)
@DM74, you can also use brute force.
Menu / Tools / Customize, tab Menus.
Buttons Reset (with confirmation) and OK.
Or delete the file C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\4\user\config\soffice.cfg\modules\swriter\menubar\menubar.xml

Your suggestion resolved my issue. It must have been something I’d done previously that deleted items. I now have what I need.
