No word count in 5.1.1.3 for Mac

I’ve just upgraded to 5.1.1.3 for Mac, and have discovered that the automatic word count isn’t working as it should: you have to select text before you can get a word count.

I know others have flagged this up in other versions, but I thought I should mention it specifically for this one. I hope there’s a solution to this before long.

Please edit the question to indicate file format in use. There are reported bugs for non-native file formats.
