Normal Distribution function giving incorrect result

I’m using Calc for a intro to statistics class, and one specific problem keeps giving me an incorrect result when I plug in the data. Ive used the formula correctly many times, but in this specific instance I get a value of 2.63xxx or something way off. The solution should be a value approaching zero. Here’s what I’m entering into the cell: =NORM.DIST(175,240,6.37,1). Is this just an issue of too many digits and if so, why doesnt the program just return an error message? Any help is much appreciated!

=NORM.DIST(175;240;6.37;1) gives 9.50555500979243E-25 here with Version: 7.3.2.1 (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 0b2e59a88b7e225b655db87910f97dca7aef27aa
CPU threads: 12; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19044; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: ru-RU (ru_RU); UI: en-US
Calc: CL

I am getting the same result as @mikekaganski using an older version (7.1.3.2).

  • Is that formula =NORM.DIST(175,240,6.37,1) the verbatim formula you entered into a spreadsheet cell, or is your actual formula referencing those values in other cells?
  • Do you have auto-recalc on? Press function key F9 to trigger recalc manually.
