not able to use mendeley plugin in Libreoffice

I’m using LibreOffice Version: 6.4.7.2 (x64) on a Windows 10 64-bit system. After installing the plugin with Mendeley Desktop 1.19.4. In LibreOffice Writer, after clicking/selecting 'enter citation or other option" (i have installed the LibreOffice plugin) I receive the message: “please run Mendeley desktop before using the plugin”

… and, did you start Mendeley Desktop and login to Mendeley?
