I have tried:
Permissions set to rwx
tools>options>Writer>(cleared open form read only)
edit>Edit Mode selected
The document STILL opens write protected.

It sounds like an anti-ransomware setting in your anti-virus. Open your anti-virus menu/settings and look for something like Anti-ransomware or Blocked and Allowed apps. You need to unblock, or allow soffice.bin (in the same folder as LO executables). Cheers, Al
