Office version supported in L-O on Win 2012 R2

I have installed LO 7.1 on a Windows 2012 R2 server and it’s working fine but I can’t save documents in the most recent versions of the corresponding Office products. I can only 'save as ’ Word/Excel 1997-2003 (i.e. doc/xls). I have LO 6.3 installed on a Windows 10/64 bit desktop and can ‘save as’ Excel 2007-2019 (i.e. docx/xlsx).

From what I can tell, Windows 2012 R2 will run the later 2019 suite of Office desktop products so I’m not sure why I can’t save LO documents in those formats. Can anyone enlighten me?

Just a tip:

Always use the native, international standard ODF file types, if you want preserve your important documents from losing some formatting properties or even some contents.
Create (export) a copy in the foreign file formats at the end of editing.

The System requirements of the recent LibreOffice: Windows 7 (32 or 64 bit) or newer. Use an older LO version for an older operating systems. You can download all of the older versions:
