On Mac Calc not opening properly after Mac OS 26 upgrade

After OS 26 upgrade Calc files no longer open as previously configured. Instead the Libre Office splash screen flashes by. Then the default Open a file/application screen opens and closes, then my file opens in a reduced window. I then must resize the window to work with the file. Very annoying. Changes not retained. I must redo this every time. I’ve been useing L.O. calc for years. This behavior is new and correlates with Mac OS 26 upgrade. I can restore normal behavior temporarily by moving L.O. app to the trash and re-running the installer. But if I reboot my system the erroneous behavior returns. Which version of LO?
FYI, I don’t have this problem on Tahoe 26 with the latest version of LO. It sounds typically like a LO profile issue. If you start LO in default configuration mode, does the problem persist?

Thank you for your response. I am running 25.8.3.2. Prior to that 25.2.4. When started in safe mode the problem persists for all calc files. I followed instructions to reset LO. It’s not that calc is misbehaving once open It’s just the annoyance of needing to wait for the screen for selecting the LO application to flash by and then needing to resize my calc window every time it opens.
I have Deleted LO from Applications folder, then booted to safe mode and put the user caches in the trash and also trashed the LO Application support folder. The caches and app support folder/files all get fresh copies on reboot. However, this issue persists??

Do you have any particular macOS desktop settings that might affect the display of the windows on opening (Stages, window settings, groupings, etc)?

Happy New Year,
None of that stuff is on. Stage manager is off. Dragging to tile or fill screen are all off. They were on by default. I noticed that dragging a window to the menu bar sometimes filled the screen but about half the time crashed LO. So I turned all that stuff off.
I have discovered, if I open LO (not a file just the application) and resize the default window used for either selecting a recent file or one of the LO applications and then open my file it is sized as I adjusted the default window. Then after saving and closing I can go straight to the file and it will open to the size I set. There is still one difference. Previously when opening a file directly it just opened. Now the default window flashes first then the file opens. This behavior is just since updating LO to 25 from 24. I can live with the default screen flashing by as long as I don’t have to resize my working file window every time I open it. Thanks for your help.
Best Regards,
Bob

Hi @quenbycrew42, I believe that opening the file follows the last size of the file that was saved. Regardless of the size at which the file was closed.
In detail: If you saved file1 in full screen and then closed it, and then save and close file2 in 50% screen, if you open file1 again, it will remain at 50% screen.

Thanks for your reply. What you describe is how it used to work under v24. Now under v25 it seems like the size of the default open LO window controls. I think I have this worked around. Time will tell.
Happy New year Gilberto

I have this macro:

Sub WhenOpening
'Link to the "When opening file" event in Tools / Options
    With ThisComponent.getCurrentController
        .getFrame.ContainerWindow.IsMaximized = True
        .ZoomType = com.sun.star.view.DocumentZoomType.BY_VALUE
        .ZoomValue = 100 'zoom out of the spreadsheet
    End With
End Sub
