LO suite has a long load time. However, LO writer opens promptly. This effect is consistent across the latest update and the previous update. Could this delay be the result of the Suite searching for all the documents shown on the thumbnails? Could this be a corrupt user file? Up until very recently, opening LO suite happened immediately after the blue load bar finished forming. Please advise. I am seeking a decision tree starting from the least change to the greatest change to address the load times.

Check starting in Safe Mode, which uses temporarily a different profile and your current profile’s and in consequence you recent documents list’s effect will be eliminated (You did not mention you operating system, so can’t be more specific on how to start into Safe Mode in you case).
