Options-Language settings-Languages for multiple languages

I mostly keep spreadsheets in English with English day names etc. and a point as a decimal separator. However, for one specific application I need to have my language settings in French, with a comma as a decimal separator. There doesn’t seem to be any way to do this ‘for current document only’, and the ‘Apply’ button doesn’t always seem to work when I try to change the setting back to English for a document created using English settings which has now been made French. Is there any way I can set up my system so I can have some spreadsheets in French and some in English?

Also, I haven’t noticed any difference if the Decimal separator key box is checked or unchecked.
Am I misunderstanding the way this is supposed to work, or is there a bug in the code? Thanks.

For the French spreadsheets, just right click the Default cell style:

  • Select the Numbers tab and change the Language to French (France)
  • Select the Font tab and change the Language to French (France)
