Page Numbers in base

I’m building a set of reports in Base. I would like to have each report start at a specific page numnber, and then I will print the reports to PDF and combine them.

I’ve seen in Writer that you can indicate the starting page of a document, but I can’t find a way to do the with a Base Report.

Either that, or since I know I will have a specific number of pages, is there a way in a Base report to put a specific page number in the footer depending upon which page is produced?

Any suggestions gratefully appreciated.

**Followup Edit: I HAVE used the workaround of having the Base Reports not have page numbers and just editing the PDF output to add them.

Hello,

Have not found any method to easily accomplish this. Available in Report Builder is PageNumber() but have not been able to use this other than as is.

May be possible by some type of macro but can’t see this being worth the effort. Have not been able to do this with a user function as it is not available for increment in a Page Footer section.

One possibility is to create the reports, edit the output & manually change the page numbers.

Edit 2019-11-05:

Not much into Writer but did some simple testing. The output of Report Builder is a Writer document. When created you can Edit the document (button upper right of text). Go into edit mode. Then from menu Insert->More Breaks->Manual Break. Select a Style (tested with Default) and set starting page number. Select OK & new page numbers are shown. Then you can export as PDF.

Yes, this would be my suggestion - save the output of the report as a Writer document to your hard disk (Save as/Export) outside of the ODB file, then edit the Writer document to insert page numbers. The page setting functions, including page numbering, in the report generator display various longstanding buggy behaviours.
