pagination

I have a document with about 90+ pages. What process can I use to re-paginate the entire document? This is a Libre document and has the page numbers centered in a footer. I know the answer is simple, but I want to make sure I don’t mess-up the document.
Thank You

Hi

Re-paginate can mean many things… I advise you this wiki page that deals with common cases.

[EDIT]

The insertion of field page number is usually (almost always) in the header or footer that are properties of page styles.

If you are using several page styles in the document you need to activate the header (or footer) for each of them and insert the Page Number field.

Thanks to all for their input.

I would suggest you first make a copy of the document, FILE > SAVE A COPY, so that you have a backup in case of problems. Assuming that the document is in .odt format, you can insert a page number in the footer as INSERT FIELDS > PAGE NUMBER. The pages will be automatically numbered. If you modify the contents and number of pages the page numbers will adjust automatically.

“Chapter 4 Formatting Pages” of the LibO Writer Guide gives extended help on pagination and page numbering.

I really don’t know what happened—i couldn’t get the page numbers in the footer, i do seem to have the numbering working (page 70) but the listing on each page has disappeared and some sort of numbering seems to appear every few paragraphs—that number increases and at the end of the document is about 130. I saved the file as listed in save a copy, but when i go back to it, the page numbers have disappeared as well----fi don’t know what to do next.
