Password error when I should have no password

Yesterday I upgraded from 7.2.6.2 to 7.4.1. When I opened an existing file I got a red message saying that my password was out of date or some such nonsense. It apparently wanted me to input my old password so I could update it. The problem is that I’ve never used a password, so there isn’t an old one to input. And I don’t want to use passwords.

I uninstalled 7.4.1 and installed the previous version: 7.3.6. Same problem.

I uninstalled that one and went back to 7.2.6.2, the one I’ve been using since last May, and the password error message went away. I am currently at that version, which is why I cannot provide the exact wording of the error message.

I clicked the Calc tag, but this might be common. I didn’t think to check the other programs to see if they did the same thing.

I’d like to keep my software up-to-date. How can I get rid of this error so I can do that?

Thanks,

–Brian

Thanks. That suggests that there might be a solution, but does not make the solution obvious. It suggests that I may have “played with” passwords at some time in the past, but I’m pretty sure I have not. I’m just a basic user creating my own documents for internal use. Is there a simple way to make this go away?

The solution is right in the first comment below the question:

(now marked as such).

Ah, I saw that but failed to click the link and find the instructions. It has now been corrected. Thank you!
