Paste characters in different direction within Writer table

I have a list in a writer that goes something like this (one letter per row):

A)

B)

C)

D)

Etc.

I want to copy/paste the list so that it comes out like this (without having to manually copy/paste each line, as there are many lines).

D)

C)

B)

A)

Etc.

Any ideas? I’m pretty sure I’ve done this in calc before but not writer.
Note that the letters shown in these list examples are just an example; the actual characters in the document are different and inconsistent, rendering Writer’s “Sort” function of little use.

If this is an auto-numbered list, your items will be renumbered A B C D after the move.

Add numbers before, and sort in descending order:

  • Select the text
  • Convert it to table
  • Add a column to the left
  • Add numbers from 1 to n (could make the list in Calc, then paste as Rich text formatting in a text document, select the new list, copy and paste in the first columns of the table)
  • Select the table and sort
  • Delete the first column
  • Convert the table to text

Manually moving with keyboard, smart way (aprox. n*2-1 movements):

  • Move paragraph n to n-1 position, move n and n-1 to n-2 position, etc. (Ctrl+Alt+Up Arrow, Shift+Down Arrow, Ctrl+Alt+Up Arrow, Shift+Down Arrow, etc.)

Manually moving with keyboard, simple way, longer way (aprox. (n+1)*(n/2) movements, so useful if not too many paragraphs):

  • Move first paragraph with Ctrl+Alt+Down Arrow until the last position
  • Moving former last paragraph with Ctrl+Alt+Up Arrow to first position
  • Second paragraph to n-1, former n-1 to 2th, etc.
