Pasting issues in Writer

I have just started using LibreOffice and my impressions are mixed about its ease of use and reasonable compatibility with MS Office. If the number and frequency of issues and glitches I encounter with it exceeds the value of a free application, sadly I will need to go back to MS Office or look for another program.

Today, of of a sudden, I can’t paste a copied image from the Snipping Tool, even though up until today that worked fine. Instead of the image, it pastes a strange number 706.70.

I use the Snipping Tool a lot, and usually work fast in my applications so any glitches like this slow me down.

Could someone advise please how to fix it (permanently)?

until then - I have to go back to MS Word as I need to keep working!

thanks

There is something a bit odd with the output from the snipping tool. It is fine for MS Office but it was originally under powered so I never bothered with it. If you are happy with your current work flow then stick with it.

I use Greenshot but there are plenty of other screenshot tools that output standard format such as snagit.

I agree with @EarnestAl ,

But you can check if there is a check mark in the View>Images and Charts menu.

With me:

Version: 7.3.3.2 (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: d1d0ea68f081ee2800a922cac8f79445e4603348
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19044; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: de-DE
Calc: CL

thanks for your reply.

I have been using the Snipping Tool for ages and really like it as it’s quick and easy.

I just tried it again - this time it worked! what makes Libre Writer so temperamental with this tool?

I have Windows 10 Pro 64 bit.

thanks @EarnestAl

yes, there is a check mark.

what makes Libre Writer so temperamental with this tool?

well I do not think that program have whims. :slightly_smiling_face:

this time it worked!

then I assume that the check mark is now set, right?

Please note that software like LibreOffice is always evolving, mostly based on user requests or to provide compatibility according to a market leader’s program.
