Hello, I’m trying to achieve this effect, but I can’t get it working.
It’s a pretty common practice to place footnotes like this for image-heavy texts, at least in the field of graphic design, but I still don’t see a way to do it at all. I can set an indent from the left of the page on body text, and an indent from the right on the footnotes, but of course the text refuses to flow past the footnotes.
Does anyone have a workaround? If not, I’ll file this as an enhancement bug … though I’m really losing hope about LibreOffice’s bug tracking and development at this time.
Edit: apparently I can insert a frame to the left of the text, and then create my footnotes manually. Later, when I have time, I’ll see if I can get a system working with cross-references to numbered paragraphs. It would really be easier if we could just specify alternate locations for footnote fields, though.
