Hi my name is Benji,
I dont know if anyone will answer this,
I am trying to move away from MS office suite permanently. Trying to use librecalc for the “SUM” function.
When I hit return, I am just left with the argument. like this
=SUM(A6:A11)

Hello,
When posting a question please include your OS and specific LibreOffice version being used. This can affect answers like this one.
You probably have a selection to display formulas. From the menu select Tools->Options
. Then double click on LibreOffice Calc in left column. Click on View
. Then in right pane see if Formulas
under Display
section is checked. If so un-check it with a mouse click.
Another option is cells having Text format string; in that case, typing anything into the cell is interpreted as plain text, and not attempted to be interpreted as numbers/formulas/whatever.
Thanks you guys so much !!! its fixed.
are there any tutorials to familiarize myself with the libre office suite? Coming from 20 years of MS Office.
