Yea I’m on version 6. I’ll update. Another completely bizarre thing is it keeps on taking spaces out after my periods. It’s now done this randomly through the document 4 times. The first time I figured I did something wrong but I would do nothing, and it would suddenly have these random space deletions after I saved and reopened. The even odder thing is I used to be able to correct them with the spell checker, but, on this latest .odt version, the spell checker isn’t finding them. Anyway you guys have been great, I’ll quit bugging ya.

From this remark I bet you live in the US where a mechanical typewriter tradition still survives: double space after full stop. This tradition may cause “accidents” in text justification. Though US publishers like to have a wider space between sentences, you’ll avoid subtle issues (not bugs, just inconveniences) if you drop it, i.e. only one space after punctuation. Consider this double-space tradition as some form of direct formatting. And as always, direct formatting ends up playing erratic bad tricks on your back.
You are correct. From the US and an old school double spacer. But I fixed all those with autocorrect and this was actually removing even the single space, so autocorrect isn’t the reason - unless we’re doing zero spaces now. I feel like I’m going nuts. I think this is a case of too powerful for my needs, though I find it hard to understand why a piece of software would randomly start removing spaces. This is the document that I haven’t fucked up yet as far as I know. Anyway, you two get the award for most helpful people on a message board ever, so thanks. Faith in humanity restored.
