Possible bug in Calc involving saving embedded fonts and filesize oddities

When I wrote “license”, I didn’t mean the reference to a license text - I meant the information about permitted uses, that is embedded in the font file. I met situations, when a font author forgot to specify permissions in the font; and then fixed that in a later version of the font. LibreOffice considers those permissions when embedding / using embedded files.

You did (indirectly): your formatting applies Western Fira Code over existing Liberation Serif+Noto Sans CJK+Noto Sans Devanagari; and Fira Code replaces the Western part of this trio - so it becomes what I wrote.

It knew to hide the information. What you are typing is irrelevant. Embedding is a feature targeted primarily at document sharing; and there is no information, what will be typing another person.
