Preview next effect instead of next slide in presenter console

In PowerPoint, the presenter view previews the next effect instead of the next slide. It only previews the next slide when there are no effects left. In Impress, only the next slide is previewed. This is not as useful–the preview should be what is going to happen on the next advance, IMO. Is there a way to get this behavior?

I’m using Ubuntu 14.04, and I’ve added the latest LibreOffice PPA so I’m currently on 4.3.1.2. I’ve tried on multiple monitor/projector setups.

Which LibO version? Which OS? Which monitor/projector set-up? Please provide more information.
