print problem

just recently had windows 10 installed. Now I can not print . I could print in windows 7 .
HP printer 6978.

I am not techy at all. spent all afternoon playing around trying different things. But , my knowledge is limited.

Shoot , had trouble when asked for a tag. Never before seen this. LOL

when creating the document , I choose the print option. It opens my printer and I choose all the appropriate things , ust as I had with Win 7. Hit the print button, It shows for just a split second, with the green bar filling in. But it does not print. My printer shows the doc in q. Many times now. LOL!

First, you had better clear your print queue. Open Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Devices and Printers. Right-click on your printer and select See what’s printing. In the dialog box that opens, select Printer > Cancel all documents

Can you print some text from Notepad (type Notepad into the search next to Start and select Notepad App)? If not then use HP tool Print and Scan Doctor . If that fails look at re-installing drivers or updated drivers, see question on HP site OfficeJet-Pro-6978-Error-Printing

If you made some changes in Windows, I would recommend Win > Power > Restart (not Shut down in case you have the crazy Fast Start enabled which just hibernates).

If you can print from Notepad, then copy the same text into Writer and try printing just the text. Al
