Printing a document when Windows is Dark mode?

My windows is in dark mode. I just started up 25.2.1.2 and it’s in darkmode. This is a new install on this computer of Libre office.
Ok so darkmode.

BUT when I print preview the black thing is in DARKMODE
Clearly that’s not right. I don’t have black paper in my printer.

Shouldn’t the printer default should be light mode [ with black text] even when the doc is dark mode, esp due to the Windows environment?

Looks like we have some more thinking through to do about dark mode in LibreOffice. Nobody wants to use up all their toner on a few pages or printing just because their windows env is set to dark mode.

Try to create a pdf first and check, if it is black on white.

I’m not so sure on the nobody-assumptions. The “defenders of the dark mode” somtimes pointed out they will get bling by looking at “light-mode screens” and I was also told " nobody" would print stuff today…

If the page background is printing black in dark mode, it is probably because you have set the page or table background manually. Remove any page colour (set colour to none) and it should print as normal. And text colour should be on auto.

But with table line colour I could not find a setting for auto colouring that adapts to theme and prints accordingly. I Had to set the Table border colour to grey so that it is visible on screen in dark mode and also prints.

Update: You can set what these colours auto default to for the theme in Tools > Options > LibreOffice > Customisations > Table boundaries - Automatic. Unfortunately Table border colour doesn’t auto switch between black and white for theme. It is just grey.
