Printing single sheets from booklet

I produce historical booklets - 36 or 40 page, A5 - two pages per A4 sheet side, printed both sides. Writer prints this as a full booklet no probs. However I can’t get it to print a single sheet, on its own, laid out in the appropriate booklet format eg page 6 opposite page 31 for a 36 page booklet. Micro Publisher will do this (I’m desperately trying to migrate) and it’s useful. Any advice would be appreciated. Regards John

I feel this could be a solution.
Pl try this. If you have duplexer i.e. both side printing printer.
Print>General>Pages = 31,6,7,30
Page Layout>Pages per sheet=2
Hope this works.
To test, give 1-4 as a page range. You will get a kind of print out. Note, which page come where. then, change the order to have your own sequence.

Thanks for that Googly. I have a “one side at a time” printer but I get the general drift. Will try it as soon as time allows. Would you believe I’ve actually got trouble with the printer as well at the mo. It never rains etc.

Have now had a chance to try this method and it does appear to work, if a little clunky. I have however had other problems formatting my booklets. I’m new to Writer, but I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m being a little unfair in my expectations. It’s fundamentally a word processor [ although a good one] and I’m expecting it to act as a publishing suite. So I shall go away to a dark room and think for a bit. Thanks to everyone.
