I am learning to use Impress and like some things about it but also have a couple of major concerns. I am running this on Ubuntu on two different laptops.

Often, Xorg starts to take up a lot of memory and CPU time at times where nothing is happening.

When I want to copy a slide from one file into another, I know that you can do this from the view-slider option. Sometimes this works and sometimes it copies another slide from the destination document.
I have used other such software before and really want to use LibreOffice but admit that these problems are rather frustrating. Any advice on either would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. When I tried posting this with Chrome I could not because of an error that said “Cannot contact reCAPTCHA” so am now trying with Firefox.
