So when feeding in a formula in LibreCalc, it is quite easy to have alot of Parens, ((()))) these things,
it is also really fun to go back and find out how many close parens it takes to close those out…
I remember that those other guys highlighted the complimentary open paren when i typed a new close paren which generally helps to figure out where you are in that thing… if you have already done this, how do i turn that feature on? if not… hey can you add that highlighting ?
There is parentheses-pair highlighting feature in my LO 7.5.8. And it works in my LO 25.2.1.2. portable version too.
(it is a default setting, I have not modified any special settings)
Just edit the formula IN THE CELL, and put the cursor closely after the examined parenthese character. The pair of the examined parenthese character will be bolded:
If the cell’s font format is bold, it may be difficult to find the corresponding brackets.
When the font format of a cell is bold, the corresponding parentheses in the formula cannot be identified.

When you use the Cell styles, and not the direct (manual) formatting, then you can switch easily to a temporary custom “Examining style” what has not “bolded” property.
.
If you are using many various manual formatting properties to a cell, then you are in trouble.
So that is also wierd you have highlights on your formula too.
mine are all black and white on the top bar
colors show up in the cell itself

oooohhhh! wait i see
if I am editing in the cell itself, vs the top formula bar, I see the momentary bold of the opposite paren.
Thanks.
BTW
I am using LO 24.2.7.2 on Ubuntu
