I am running LO 5.2.1.2, installed on Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit, SP1. I use a non-administrator account on the PC. After installation, I chose the option to “Load LibreOffice during system start-up”. The quickstarter loads, and if I right-click on the system tray icon for it, I get the menu offering choices Text Document, Spreadsheet, Presentation, Drawing, Database, Formula, and From Template. If I choose one of the document types, LO opens to the appropriate document editor. But if I choose From Template, instead of getting the window offering me the templates to choose from, I get a failure message, “Given module is not a frame nor a window, controller or model.” This just has an OK button, and when I click it, the Quickstarter terminates. The icon doesn’t disappear from the system tray until I move the mouse cursor over it. Then Windows realizes the underlying task has failed, and removes the icon.
What happened to the From Template option? I noticed that it seems to be the subject of some discussion in a search I did for this problem.
Same problem here. I am looking for solution. OS: LinuxMint 17.3 LO: 5.2.2.2
Edit: problem solved with LO 5.3.
Same problem on LO 5.4.5.1 (x64), win 7. When clear user profile then problem disappears. I think it is something related to this Bug115518
