Will LibreOffice help me to recover (open) my Word files due to the fact that Word Starter 2010 stopped working and I uninstalled it. Thanks.
Try to open them from File>Open and report here (editing your quastion; answers are reserved for solutions) if this does not work.
Be aware the Writer is not Word. If your files contain sophisticated formatting, you may experience discrepancies. Usually 95% files are converted correctly but are not structured in true Writer philosophy.
Once converted, store in .odt native format to avoid further problems.
