Yesterday I sent two recipients emails with attachments I saved in Word format. Now, I have to copy then into another email for each could not open them. I do not understand why. They were the same document, a two-page. Why are you making this forum so difficult to use? It took four attempts to post this. I could not figure out at first what you wanted me to list as tags.
You didn’t say which Word format you used (.doc, .docx, etc). And which version of LibreOffice you are using. That would help us to help you.
And tags are actually quite common in places where the topics, questions, answers, etc need to be sorted or filtered. I am surprised that you had trouble with them here.
LibreOffice 7.0 on Catalina using docx. format. I used what tags I thought you were looking for, then deleted them all until I found one that passed.
Did your documents have a SmartArt objects inside?
Why are you making this forum so difficult to use?
We - the people trying to answer your question - don’t make this forum, we just use it like you the way it is. So you blame the wrong people.
You might have found a bug in LibreOffice 7.0. In any case, I believe that the Word (1997-2003) .doc format is safer to use for exporting documents. Try that instead of .docx.
I assume you are aware that you should always save your documents in the LO native format (like .odt) and only convert/export them into other formats (like MS-word) when you need to share them with others who don’t use LO. No conversion process is perfect and there is always the risk of losing some special formatting in a document.
The recipients might not have current versions of Word. I have Word 2010 (10 years old!) and it can’t open files that subsequent versions of MS Office can open, and it chokes on and breaks .odt files. Maybe the problem is that the recipients have outdated software. If they can’t upgrade, they want to look at installing LibreOffice
