Hi,
My machine has a nasty habit of bluescreening (ugh!), presumably for reasons unrelated to LibreOffice. However, I’ve had a fair amount of experience with LibreOffice’s document recovery as a result. My experience has been that recovery always succeeds unless the file was through Google Drive for desktop (Use Google Drive for desktop at home, work, or school - Google Drive Help) and the Google Drive setup happened to be down at that moment, resulting in recovery failing because it could not find the file. This seems like reasonable behavior. I suspect if the file had been on a network drive and that network drive had been down at that moment, it would behave the same way.
Now, I would think that if I then fix the Google Drive problem and restart LibreOffice to try recovery again, it would succeed, but that has not been the case–recovery always continues to fail, even though LibreOffice can subsequently open the file in question using the same path. I have had a few times now where Google Drive was defunct when the first recovery was attempted, and recovery has always continued to fail after fixing Google Drive, even after rebooting. Am I the only one? Is there something I could do besides cancel the recovery and deal with whatever was lost?
