I am trying to refer to an already existing endnote in my document using cross reference in libreoffice writer.
But the cross reference produces the same number for all references. I believe there must be a field of number in the down left panel but it doesn’t exist.
Any idea how to solve this problem?

Please improve your question by editing it (don’t use a comment; reopen your question by clicking …, then the pencil tool). Give an exemple (screenshot or, much much better, attach a sample file).
What di you mean by “the cross reference produces the same number for all references”? Explain if the number is the same no matter the note you reference or if you always have the same number for a specific note (which indeed is what is expected).
Cross-references are a form of field.
Don’t forget to mention OS name, LO version and save format.
The problem was solved by re-installation of LibreOffice.
