How do I remove headers and footers on a mac? I keep seeing 'use F11, Page styles 4th icon, but F11 simply minimises the page on a mac, so is there an alternative method?

Click Format > Page Style then select Header tab and untick Header on, select Footer tab and untick Footer on
You might prefer to create a new page style without headers and footers so your document could have pages with headers and ones without depending on page style, see this question today Basic help with the adding of plain pages to an existing template document
