I upgraded to 5 and now there’s a great big Libre 5 banner on the desktop - covering most of my quick-start icons. This is a HUGE irritation. It was nothing I opted-in for. What gave Libre permission to use the most of the visual estate on my desktop display? How do I get rid of this intrusive banner? Thank you.

The --nologo option on startup does this. Add it to the properties of your LibO startup icon. How to do this varies by operating system. If you invoke LibO with the --help option, you will find a host of options for you to use.
