Rescaling Drawing with dimension lines to fit on page?

Hi,
I have drawn at scale 1:1 the following.
I initially did it on custom 500 by 300 mm custom page (not A3 as I originally wrote) but I want to fit it onto A4 so I changed the page properties to A4 Landscape:

so I changed the scale to half scale (Menu Tools > Options > LibreOffice Draw > General → Drawing Scale), but this didnt give me what I wanted - it gave me this (kept the drawing the same but changed the scale in the sense that all dimensions were doubled - logical, but not what I want)

Could anyone please tell me how to keep all the dimensions the same as my upper screenshot above, but fit the drawing onto the page at half scale?

TIA
Leigh

Have you tried to leave your scaling 1:1 and set up the A4 page in landscape format?

Thanks
Yes, I did - both my screenshots are with A4 Landscape
A4 isnt big enough for the drawing at full scale
I edited my original post as reading yours, sorry!

As you have already noticed, it does not work if you change the scaling.

My suggestion:

Go back to A3 or to the previously set slide dimensions.
Then, when printing, “Fit to paper size”.

Thanks
What I did was change the paper size to A3 so it all fitted on and then Exported to PDF
I dont really need to print it out, just send it via email
Absolutely loving Libreoffice!
Could I have shaken off the last vestiges of MS at last?

ALso, I am now logged into ArchLabs on my same laptop and it is all so much snappier   :+1: :+1: :+1:

Although you have a workaround now, you might encounter the problem again.

After you halved the size of the paper, you could change the scale of the drawing to 1:2. Your dimension lines will now show double the intended measurement and the drawing will still be too large.

Drag select everything on the paper, right-click and select Position and Size (F4). In the dialogue box that opens, select the Position and Size tab. Under Size, tick the box Keep ratio then halve one of the dimensions, width or height depending on most convenient and OK. The dimension lines will read correctly and the drawing will fit the paper. Cheers, Al
