Right Click to Select All in Writer

I frequently type long documents with Libre Office Writer. It can be quite a chore to highlight and drag the mouse to select multiple pages so I can make changes to the text or copy and paste.

Is there a way to Select All the text in a document with a keyboard shortcut similar to Ctrl+V for pasting an item from the Windows clipboard?

The right click mouse feature is often used on webpages to copy and paste text and use other options. Having the same right click to Select All in Writer would be a familiar and easy to use function that many users would benefit from.

LOL, wow that is awesome and works great! I will be using that frequently. I can’t believe I missed that! Would still be nice to have the right click to Select All. Thanks! :+1:

PKG, for your solution it would’ve worked to simply tell me to look on the Writer Edit menu for Select All Ctrl+A. But I appreciate the extra effort to make screenshots of the menu.

LeroyG WOW! Thanks for such an awesome reply  :tada:. I wish I had asked this question a long time ago. The screenshots of the menu and taking the time to add the highlighting of the steps made understanding the menu navigation a lot easier.
.
I made the browser window half the screen while Writer was open on the other half so I could still see your instructions without having to click back and forth between two windows.
.
Even having both windows open it still took a lot of concentration to make sure I saw all the steps, tab clicking etc. So in this instance the screenshots were definitely a lot easier to create and follow then typing all the steps.
.
Having just learned about this menu customization, I’m going to look through all the tabs and options and see what other things I want to change.

Seeing how frequently answers on here include screenshots I’ll keep that in mind for the future if I answer questions. I wish I could give you both the checkmark for finding the solution! Thank you both for your effort!
