Current row and column highlight renders over charts. Is there a way to prevent this? Is this intended behavior?
I expect so, a selected cell will also be highlighted through the graph, even though you cannot see the contents except in the formula bar. The highlighting does not form part of the document, it is just to show the column and the row.
You can turn off the highlighting entirely. Click View > Column/row highlighting to toggle visibility, or click Tools > Options > LibreOffice Calc > General and untick Highlight selection in column/row headers
