Row height during load file

Hi,

I updated to Ubuntu 24 and my Libre Calc also updated. Currently I have 24.2.7.2

In the previous version of Calc I load some large xlsx files, and even if I had cells that had multiple lines, the row opened in one line, and that was my preferred way of working.

In the current version, I think that Calc make adjustments to row height and the size of row is not one line but expanded. Because of this, it takes a lot of time to actually load the file.

Could somehow enforce to disable the adjustment in row height when I load a file?
Also, this is because of the xlsx file? If I ask to send me the file in ods the problem will be solved?

Thanks

It may be a compatibility problem:

How to open files from MS-Office 2007 or 2010 (.DOCX, .XLSX,…)?

It is important to check, what Excel does for the XLSX files. If it behaves differently, this would be an interoperability bug (and a regression). If Calc works like Excel in this regard, then - well, there’s nothing to do here (that would mean, that the change you see is a result of a bug fix; and we need no “open Excel files not like Excel” configuration; that’s what you will have to live with).
