rtf text goes beyond page border: how to fix?

(LibreOffice 3.5 writer on ubuntu 12.04 x64)

I opened a rtf file on LibreOffice writer, and the lines of text consistently go beyond the edge of the visible page on the right hand side. This occurs whether I am in single- or double-page view. How can I fix this? Could it be related to the existence of long links on the page?

I tried searching for similar questions here and on Google, but apparently my google-search-fu is powerless today.
