Is there any way to save a Writer file without comments or any history of changes? I want to be certain that clients can’t see comments or any other (past) versions of the document. Thanks.
This is from Writer Help:
Recording Changes
Not all changes are recorded. For example, the changing of a tab stop from align left to align right is not recorded. However, all usual changes made by a proofreader are recorded, such as additions, deletions, text alterations, and usual formatting.
(my emphasis)
I cannot discover any way to switch this function off. It seems that the b*stards have decided that it is on at all times.
Hi
I do not think it is possible to get what you seek in a single command. I would do it in 3 steps:
- Stop record changes:
Edit
Track Changes
-
Edit
Track Changes
Manage Changes
Accept All
(or reject depending on your need) - Comment menu:
Delete All Comments
And, of course, Save as
a new name if you want to keep the original document.
