"Save to" options vanished?

Hello. In the last couple of days, when I try to save a new document, I no longer have all the options of places to save to. It used to have an option of ‘desktop’, and would also offer commonly used folders. Now the only immediate option is ‘documents’–which I never use.

I can click around and eventually find the folder I want, but I’d really like the ‘desktop’ option to come out, at least. And for LO to remember my usual folders. What can I do to make it like it used to be?

MacOS Big Sur Version 11.7.10 MacBook Air 2020

LO version 7.0.4.2

Thank you.

First, modify your question (click on then on the “pencil” icon) to mention OS name and LO version. Is Tools>Options, LibreOffice>General Use LibreOffice dialogs ticked?

Also, it could help if you provide a screenshot if the dialog that you see. Others could possibly notice some detail, like closed panel, or something.

Try safe mode of LibreOffice. This ignores your profile. If this cures the problem you can either hunt down the culprit or just backup, then reset the profile.

Wanderer:
Thank you for replying. I don’t know how to do any of those things though. Tried looking up ‘safe mode’ in the help bar, nothing there. I don’t know what ‘hunt down the culprit’ might mean in this case? You mean a virus? Or? And I don’t know what resetting my profile means?

Anyways, I did add a screen shot and gave my OS info…

I used google with the creative search term libreoffice safe mode and this is the second link:

The first one is what you need afterwards to rename profile (this I changed for the english version):
